Shaanxi

‘Shout’ was deeply inspired by the Laoqiang Opera, which is one of the most historically significant and archaic operas in Chinese history.

The song is based on the Laoqiang pera that preserves the powerful sounds formed thousands of years ago on the Yellow River, when sailors had to go against the stream carrying their boats back to their home

The heritage is not only presented in the music itself, but also within the energy and the way it is expressed. The Lao Qiang opera members have a ery interesting way of using their energy: their shouts and singing present much power and heroic spirit

The musical energy that has been preserved over time helped people to overcome the forces of nature. This symbolizes the glory of Shaanxi province, as well as the emperors and the brave people that lived and still live in the heart of China.

Passerby hopes to embody this energy and spirit through the song ‘Shout’

PASSERBY:
Meeting the Lao qiang opera in Shaanxi a China was probably one of the most important moments in my life.
I learned from these wonderful artists that more important than what you sing, Is the way you sing it, I learned that pure energy is the true heart of every music.

“Shout” is dedicated with respect to the ones that brought us here, the ones we didn’t get to know personally, but can do so by continuing their echo in our own way:
“Shout for your kings, shout for your fathers, who built this world for you to live on”.
