Henan

Being the cradle of Chinese civilization, Gilad Passerby found in Henan great inspiration to understand the deep roots of Chinese culture.

The song “Pray for Me” can be interpreted as a love song between a person and his hometown, which we all take with us wherever we travel to.

Henan in a way is the hometown of most Chinese people that originated from it to all parts of China, which is why the song is dedicated to it.

Passerby chose the flute for this song, which is considered to be the most ancient musical instrument that was found in Henan and in China. The song also combines the Yu opera of Henan, to express the longing for our universal everlasting wish to reunite with our hometowns.

PASSERBY:
“Pray For Me” is the 7th release of Project 34, that will include 34 releases each of them Collaboration of Passerby with an artist that represent one of the 34 different regions of China.

Passerby: “Pray for me” appears to be a romantic love song between a man and a woman, But it Is also a love song between a person to his hometown: from one side he leaves it and they miss each other and it prays for him, but at the same time it is joining wherever he travels to as it lives in him.

I chose it for Henan province because Henan is the cradle of Chinese civilization, many Chinese people came from Henan, As it is the province that is the hometown of hometowns.

This song is dedicated with love to anyone that lives outside of his hometown.
